The first step in owning a happy, healthy and long lived Keeshond is to buy a puppy from a reputable breeder.
The Keeshond needs a moderate amount of care. They are active indoors, need daily exercise outdoors, and require weekly grooming when not shedding, to keep them looking their best.
The Keeshond’s thick undercoat blows out twice a year, at this time they may need extra grooming.
Keeshonds do not need a bath more than a few times a year.
Keeshonds should visit the vet for a health check, innoculations and examination each year, and also if they ill or hurt.
